Mandatory Custom Fields

To setup mandatory fields, go to ADMIN -> CUSTOM FIELDS tab.

You have the option to flag which custom fields are required upon ticket creation and which are not.  It is important to note that this only applies to custom field types that are Text, Date and Pick List.

To configure these settings, go to the Admin section and click on the Custom Fields tab.

Once there, you will see a list of custom fields you have (or may not have) in the grid.  If you are adding a new field or modifying one, the same form will appear:

There are a couple of items to note for Pick Lists.  It is highly suggested that the first value you add to any pick list is something that will trigger the user to do something.  Call it "Select", "Choose", etc.  Next, check both boxes as seen above.  Click save and you are done.

When the user fills out the ticket, if they do not fill in a field you have flagged as required, they will see the below warning:
