Creating Reports

TeamSupport allows  you to create reports in virtually any format you want.  The process is quite straightforward.  That said, if you need help making a report, or are unable to get the data you need, please email support@teamsupport.com and we will gladly help you out!

1. Go to Reports on the left menu, then press the "New" button at the top.

2. Type in a name for the report.

3. Select the Primary, and optionally Secondary Tables.  The tables are where the data is stored in TeamSupport, and they are laid out functionally.  The tables available are:
  • Contacts - Information about the individual contacts associated with your customers.
  • Customers - Information about your customers.
  • Groups - The groups which have been defined in TeamSupport.
  • Product Versions - The versions of the products which are in TeamSupport.
  • Products - The products you have defined in TeamSupport.
  • Tickets - This is the main table which contains all of the tickets by type within TeamSupport.
  • Users - Stores the internal TeamSupport users.
The secondary table, if selected, is linked to the primary so that you can see related data from two tables.  For example, you could set the Primary Table as "Tickets" and the secondary as "Products" so that you can get detailed information about each product in the report.  Most reports will only require a single table since TeamSupport automatically links several common tables together for ease of use.

4. On the next screen you will be presented with a list of fields that you want displayed.  Simply check the fields you want displayed on the report (note that you can filter on fields NOT displayed).

5. The final screen will allow you to restrict which records are displayed in the report.  You can filter on any of the fields - not just the displayed ones - and can add as many filters as you want.

6. When you press "Finish" the report will be run and displayed for you.  You can change the order of the fields and add additional filtering at this point, or click the "Edit" button to change anything else.
